Meet the Directors
David Lear, BA ACA
David graduated from the University of Sheffield with a degree in Economics and Accounting and went on to qualify as a Chartered Accountant in the London office of Arthur Young (a predecessor of today's "Big Four" firm Ernst & Young).
His subsequent career saw him achieve senior financial positions with a number of companies, with responsibility for management information, payroll and personnel, statutory reporting, company taxation, budget and forecast preparation, company secretarial duties and office administration. David has also been responsible for the implementation of a number of major computer systems.
In 2006 the opportunity arose to walk away from the daily grind of commuting and a long held but deep buried dream to run his own business suddenly became a real possibility.
Gabrielle Lear, BA
Gabrielle hails from Holland but has lived in the UK since 1985. In Holland, after qualifying as a Company Secretary she joined the oil industry as PA to the Managing and Finance Directors of a refinery company as well as being responsible for public relations.
In the UK, Gabrielle was PA to the MD of a London based oil company. She set up her own business when the firm decided to move to Aberdeen and her first contract was to organise their new base and subsequent move. Gabrielle then branched out into translations, using her fluency in Dutch, English, French and German to good effect. At the same time she provided ad hoc PR, secretarial and administrative support to a number of clients and worked occasionally as a private eye!
In 1992 she joined an insurance broker in the City and over the next 14 years, as PA to the owner, was responsible at various times for general office administration, payroll, HR and bookkeeping. She also found time to graduate from Goldsmiths College with a French degree.
